Isuzu Completes an Exceptional new challenge from Jeddah to Manama with Only One Fuel Tank!

Co., LTD launched its new challenge in Saudi Arabia by setting on an exciting trip from the city of Jeddah west of Saudi Arabia, to the Bahraini capital Manama without fuel tank refuel, the previous challenge in 2019 was focused on the fuel consumption efficiency and the durability of the MU-X (65L fuel tank), at that time the challenge achieved a remarkable record by covering a distance of 1,227 km and reaching the outskirts of the city of Dammam. 

In Feb 2024 Isuzu Motors International Operations (Thailand) Co., LTD decided to repeat this challenge with a longer distance aiming to demonstrate the engine fuel economy, using its new 2024 MU-X after upgrading the vehicle specifications and the size of the fuel tank which became 80 liters. The new challenge began from the west coast in Jeddah towards the Bahraini capital Manama 1,421 kilometers away, using only one diesel fuel tank! 

In cooperation with a specialized technical team and in the presence of a professional media the MU-X fuel tank had been sealed and signed by the media and Isuzu’s dealer’s representatives. This took place during the launch ceremony that was held at the luxurious Assila Hotel in Jeddah, which witnessed the presence of several media. During the trip the vehicle’s driver’s crew were keen to keep Isuzu Arabia followers informed of the latest progress in terms of access points as well as fuel consumption through its various Isuzu SNS platforms. After arriving Bahraini capital, Manama, the vehicle was received by Isuzu dealer in Bahrain, in the presence of press and media representatives, who came specifically to cover this important achievement. They also witnessed the ceremony of removing the seal from the fuel tank plug, expressing their happiness at the success of the challenge and the arrival of the vehicle from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Capital of Bahrain Manama. 

Ahmed Al-Shehri, the famous car influencer on social media who led the challenge and directly supervised, said: “I was honored to participate in driving the vehicle in this challenge. I followed up with the team to ensure the vehicle had arrived and passed the challenge. Although it was a long distance, as the car covered more than 1,400 kilometers, the Isuzu vehicle was able to reach the desired destination.” Thanks to multi benefits like durability, fuel consumption, stability.  

Al-Shehri added, “The new 2024 Isuzu MU-X is a family car with 7 seaters, as it provides wide cabin space and fuel economy. These features make it an ideal choice for families who are looking for comfort and safety in SUV”.

The drivers who participated in this challenge were impressed with the vehicle fuel efficiency, especially when the fuel gauge showed only one mark drop after 161 km drive, from the starting point in Jeddah! Another mark drop took place after 400 km! This is considered a long travel distance in some countries compared to the geographical size of the Kingdom. 

Upon arrival, the fuel tank was inspected to announce the success of the experiment and the achievement of the record set by the vehicle, as the journey distance exceeded 1,421 kilometers with one fuel tank filled with 80 liters of diesel, i.e. a value of 90 Saudi Riyals, equivalent to $24 US Dollars. The car speed rate during this trip ranged between 80 – 100 km/h so that everyone can attest to the power and performance of its engine and its ability to reduce fuel consumption. After this adventure, Isuzu has successfully demonstrated its ability to manufacture high-performance and fuel-efficient engines having set a record that proves Isuzu ability to compete in the automotive industry by producing vehicles with superior specifications in terms of fuel consumption and technical aspects, which Isuzu provides in all line up’s.

The new 2024 Isuzu MU-X features distinctive specifications highlighting its strength and endurance in various environmental and road conditions. Its exterior design is characterized by extreme elegance, with an aggressive looking front that attracts attention. The cabin accommodates seven-seaters and provides a spacious and comfortable space with enough storage space, and an advanced cockpit that ensures the driver an enjoyable and comfortable experience.  

The vehicle utilizes a three-liter diesel engine with a turbocharger that generates 190 horsepower and torque of up to 450 Newton meters.
