The MARSS Group has reached a pivotal moment by signing a substantial $20 million contract for its NiDAR Command & Control (C2) system, a first for combat-facing vessels. This marks a significant leap from its previous deployment on the M/V Asterix, a naval auxiliary ship, to a broader application within the Royal Canadian Navy and now further into the domain of combat ships.

Commissioned by a Southeast Asian client, this contract entails installing the NiDAR system and a suite of sensors on Corvette-class vessels. By fusing new and existing sonar, radar, and infrared technologies, NiDAR will provide an unparalleled detection and classification capability for underwater and surface threats, significantly enhancing maritime security and protection.

Rob Balloch, MARSS’s Chief Growth Officer, expressed enthusiasm for this venture, highlighting the transition to equipping Navy Corvettes as a significant advancement for the Group. This step positions MARSS at the forefront of naval defense technology and reinforces its commitment to safeguarding lives and assets in critical scenarios.
