Amazon in Saudi Helps Local Selling Partners Grow their Businesses Internationally, Reaching Markets in the U.S., Europe, and Asia

The announcement made during Biban 2023 confirms that Amazon.sa Saudi selling partners can start selling internationally with a singular registration process available in Arabic and English

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia—March 12, 2023—Amazon announced the launch of its new Global Registration in Saudi Arabia to help selling partners grow their business internationally through a single, simple process. Global Registration was announced during Biban 2023, an event organized by the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at) to accelerate the development of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and entrepreneurship in Saudi Arabia.

With the rollout of Global Registration, every new seller who registers with Amazon.sa will pass through a singular registration process that allows them to sell in both Saudi Arabia, and internationally, potentially connecting them with hundreds of millions of Amazon customers. Third-party selling partners in Saudi Arabia are also provided the opportunity to sell Saudi brands, including Saudi-made products on Amazon’s various stores globally, across North America and Europe, as well as in Singapore, Japan, and the Middle East. In line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to create an environment that unlocks business opportunities and gives a prominent role to SMB growth, Amazon’s new Global Registration feature will help contribute to the Kingdom’s digital economic transformation and to SMB’s contribution to the Kingdom’s gross domestic product (GDP).

Abdo Chlala, GCC Director at Amazon, said: “At Amazon, we are using our global technological advancement, coupled with our local expertise and know-how, to act as an enabler in the industry and a force for good, contributing to the growth and success of our selling partners beyond the boundaries of Saudi Arabia. The Global Registration feature represents a huge opportunity for growth, especially when paired with ongoing government support and digital advancements. We are passionate about empowering young innovators, entrepreneurs, SMBs, startups, and emerging brands. Their success is part of our success, as they pave the way to provide our customers with great selection and competitive prices.”

In this regard, Riyadh Al Sheikh, Director General of Partnerships at the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monshaat), said: “Amazon is taking steps in the Saudi market, specifically in the small and medium enterprises sector, as it is a vital and attractive sector, in addition to its distinction, continuous escalation, expansion and remarkable growth, and has chosen Biban23 to launch the Global Registration feature, which’s concerned with helping Saudi sales partners develop their businesses globally, to affect positively on SMBs, multiplies its sustainable development processes, and contributes to the spread of Amazon and its investment opportunities.”

Through a simple registration process, Global Registration allows third-party selling partners to complete the registration and verification process in Arabic, English, or one of 17 other languages. Global Registration consolidates marketplace-specific registration, allowing selling partners to save time and effort by registering through a single “door” to sell products globally.

Karim Ghandour, Head of Marketplace for Amazon Saudi Arabia, said: “The launch of Global Registration is part of Amazon’s continued investment in Saudi Arabia’s growing digital economy. Our goal is to bring world-class online retail expertise to the Kingdom to help sellers unlock their full potential by providing innovative solutions, fulfillment services, and brand-building tools that enable them to expand their businesses and reach millions of new customers, both locally and internationally. Through our efforts, we hope to support the Kingdom’s vision for social and economic progress, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.”

Committed to empowering SMBs, Amazon.sa signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Investment and Monsha’at that enables tens of thousands of SMBs to sell their products to millions of customers across the Kingdom. It also assists scores of entrepreneurs to set up their logistics businesses. Amazon operates a widespread local logistics and operations network, including 18 facilities across the Kingdom with numerous logistics partners. Amazon has also launched its global Delivery Service Partner program in collaboration with Monsha’at to empower local entrepreneurs to set up and manage their own logistics businesses delivering Amazon packages, with the aim to establish over 30 new local startups during the first three years and offer many job opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s growing logistics sector.
