Saudi Giga Projects Summit 2025 Highlights Mega Contracts and World Records

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – 13 May 2025: Day Two of the Saudi Giga Projects Summit 2025 showcased the immense scale and ambition of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Major announcements from Diriyah Company, Sports Boulevard, and AlUla Development Company underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to sustainable urban development, innovation, and private investment.

Held at The Venue by ROSHN group, the three-day summit (12–14 May) features over 70 expert speakers and project leaders driving forward Saudi Arabia’s transformative development priorities.

Mega Contracts and Record-Breaking Developments

The event opened with remarks from Lucien Zeigler, Managing Partner at RedSalt Advisory Company, emphasizing that Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 is a shared responsibility, involving everyone from ministers to citizens.

One of the most notable announcements came from Diriyah Company. Executive Director of Retail Design and Delivery, Sharat Kumar, revealed that the company is preparing to offer fit-out contracts worth approximately SR20bn ($5.3bn). Since its inception, Diriyah has awarded over $20bn in construction contracts, covering three masterplans: Diriyah, Wadi Safar, and Wadi Hanifa.

Meanwhile, the Sports Boulevard Foundation confirmed the completion of the design phase for its 130-metre-tall Global Sports Tower, which will soon become home to the world’s tallest indoor climbing wall (98m) and a 250-meter running track. Spanning 135 kilometres, Sports Boulevard is set to become the world’s longest linear park.

Innovation, Smart Cities, and Digital Transformation

The summit also featured a headline panel on “Innovation and Urban Design for Smart Infrastructure,” bringing together leaders from ROSHN, King Salman Park Foundation, Jacobs, Kirkland & Ellis, and Sustainability Professionals of Saudi Arabia. Robbie McBratney of ROSHN Group emphasized that for ROSHN, “smart cities are not about retrofitting – sustainability is in the DNA of the project.”

A dedicated workshop by Nemetschek Group spotlighted AI-driven design, digital twins, and enhanced collaboration in architecture and construction. With a €14 billion market cap and 7.5 million users worldwide, Nemetschek is actively partnering with Saudi stakeholders to reshape urban design.

Private Sector Partnerships and Future Prospects

Private sector involvement was another focus, with Khaled Alrubaian of the National Center for Privatization (NCP) revealing upcoming partnership opportunities valued at $150 billion. These initiatives aim to ease budget pressure and attract significant investments in giga projects.

As the summit heads into its final day, discussions will explore Saudi Arabia’s next development phase, including infrastructure, water management, and preparation for major global events like the 2029 Asian Winter Games, Riyadh Expo 2030, and the FIFA World Cup 2034.
