Najla Al-Otaibi: A new story of success in the world of Karate

A young Saudi girl, 26, named “Najla Al-Otaibi, is one of the kingdom’s champions in karate sport; her passion started when she was 6 years old when she went into distinguished sports experiences since that time. Najla grew up in a sports family that helped her excel in sports and become interested in activities such as tennis and chess, but Najla always felt something was missing. However, this feeling has changed when she went through the karate sport experience for the first time, she found the passion practicing this sport in the movement of the exercises which resulted in becoming her favorite sport. 

With the big support of her family, she joined a Dojo club near her home, and this was the moment in which the turning point of her life started. It added new experiences for her that helped her as well in dealing with her private life, especially discovering her strength and inner flexibility. 

Najla joined the Saudi national team in 2022, where she played an important part in the Al-Ahli team over the course of a season. This experience helped her enhance her passion for martial arts, but she was looking forward to new challenges, which made her join the Al-Ittihad team in 2024 to accomplish the rest of her dreams.

Najla’s participation in the 2024 Saudi Games edition enabled her to test her physical strength and perform the best she could with what befits her fitness level in front of all other athletes. This opportunity helped her skills grow.
