LG UltraGear evo Monitors Debut with 5K AI Upscaling Technology

LG UltraGear evo monitors have officially launched globally, introducing the world’s first on-device AI upscaling solution to the high-resolution gaming market. Announced in Dubai on December 26, 2025, the new premium brand is scheduled for a full public showcase at CES 2026. The lineup utilizes proprietary technology to achieve 5K-class clarity without increasing the workload on the user’s GPU, effectively bypassing traditional hardware resolution limits.

The expansion of high-end display technology aligns with the digital transformation goals of a Thriving Economy, where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to invest in advanced infrastructure and localized tech excellence.

AI-Driven Performance and Resolution

At the core of the evolution is a new on-device AI solution. This hardware-integrated processor analyzes and enhances visual content in real time before it reaches the panel. Beyond simple upscaling, the system includes “AI Scene Optimization” and “AI Sound,” which adjust the visual output and audio performance based on the specific gaming genre being played.

The 27-inch GM9 model addresses a common technical hurdle in MiniLED technology: blooming. By utilizing 2,304 local dimming zones and “Zero Optical Distance” engineering—which minimizes the gap between the LEDs and the panel—LG has significantly reduced the halo effect often seen in high-brightness displays.

Large Format and Immersion

For users seeking a cinematic experience, the 52-inch G9 stands as the world’s largest 5K2K gaming monitor. It features a 12:9 panoramic aspect ratio, providing a workspace approximately 33% wider than standard UHD displays. This focuses on providing the immersion necessary for a Vibrant Society that values world-class entertainment and digital creativity.

“The new UltraGear evo marks a turning point, signaling the end of compromises in gaming display performance,” stated Lee Choong-hwoan, head of the Display Business at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company.

Availability: Following the debut at CES 2026, the series will be available through the LG Official Newsroom and global retail partners.
