LG UltraGear evo 5K Gaming Monitors Launch with AI Upscaling
LG Electronics has announced the global launch of its premium gaming monitor brand, UltraGear evo™, debuting at CES 2026. The new LG UltraGear evo 5K gaming monitors represent a significant leap forward in high-resolution gaming technology, featuring the world’s first 5K AI Upscaling technology that delivers stunning clarity without requiring GPU upgrades.
Revolutionary 5K AI Upscaling Technology
At the heart of the UltraGear evo lineup is LG’s proprietary on-device AI solution, powering the industry’s first 5K AI Upscaling technology. This innovative feature analyzes and enhances content in real-time before it reaches the panel, allowing gamers to enjoy a wider range of content in high definition while transcending original resolution limits. The technology also incorporates AI Scene Optimization and AI Sound for a more immersive audiovisual experience.
Three Flagship Models Redefining Gaming Displays
The inaugural UltraGear evo lineup features three flagship models spanning OLED, New MiniLED, and ultra-wide formats. The 39-inch GX9 (39GX950B) delivers a 5K2K OLED experience with Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology, offering improved brightness, color accuracy, and perfect blacks. Its Dual Mode feature allows seamless switching between 165Hz at 5K2K resolution and 330Hz at WFHD, supported by an ultra-fast 0.03ms response time.
The 27-inch GM9 (27GM950B) sets a new standard as the world’s first 5K New MiniLED display, featuring 2,304 local dimming zones and Zero Optical Distance engineering to dramatically improve blooming control. With VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification and peak brightness up to 1,250 nits, it delivers professional-grade precision with exceptional optical clarity.
The massive 52-inch G9 (52G930B) introduces the world’s largest 5K2K gaming monitor, combining an expansive 32:9 panoramic view with a blazing-fast 240Hz refresh rate. Its 1000R curvature provides seamless immersion, while VESA Display HDR 600 certification ensures vivid colors and deep contrast.
“The new UltraGear evo marks a definitive turning point, signaling the end of compromises in gaming display performance. With innovations like industry-first 5K AI Upscaling, the lineup ensures that whether gamers prefer perfect blacks, unmatched brightness, or expansive scale, they can enjoy the same high standard of performance, clarity and immersion in high resolution.”
