LG CLOiD Robot Debuts at CES 2026 with Advanced Home Automation
LG Electronics unveiled its LG CLOiD robot at the Consumer Electronics Show 2026, demonstrating its vision for an “Effortless Home” where AI-powered robots handle daily household tasks. The robot integrates with LG’s ThinQ ecosystem to automate cooking, laundry, and home management.
LG CLOiD Robot Features Physical AI Capabilities
The LG CLOiD robot combines Vision Language Models (VLM) and Vision Language Action (VLA) systems trained on tens of thousands of hours of household task data. During CES 2026 demonstrations, the robot removes milk from refrigerators, places croissants in ovens for breakfast preparation, and manages complete laundry cycles including folding and organizing clothes.
The robot features a head-and-torso design with dual articulated arms, each offering seven degrees of freedom mimicking human arm movement. Five independently operating fingers on each hand provide precise control for handling household tools and appliances across kitchens, laundry rooms, and living spaces.
Advanced Hardware Design for Home Environment
LG designed the robot’s wheeled base using autonomous driving technology derived from their robotic vacuum experience and LG Q9 system. The tilting torso adjusts height to capture objects from knee level upward, while the low center of gravity design ensures stability and safety during operation.
- Head functions as mobile home control center with AI chip, display, speakers, cameras, and sensors
- Integration with ThinQ and ThinQ ON systems for comprehensive device management
- AXIUM actuators combining motor, controller, and speed reducer components
- Lightweight, high-efficiency design with enhanced torque capabilities
LG CLOiD robot is designed to interact naturally with humans, and we continue our efforts to achieve our vision of an effortless home.
