Hyundai MobED Wins CES 2026 Best of Innovation Award in Robotics
Hyundai Motor Company has achieved a significant milestone by winning the Best of Innovation Award in Robotics at CES 2026 for its groundbreaking MobED (Mobile Eccentric Droid) platform. This marks the first time Hyundai Motor has received this prestigious honor at the Consumer Electronics Show, highlighting the company’s leadership in merging advanced robotics engineering with practical mobility solutions.
Developed by Hyundai Motor Group’s Robotics LAB, the Hyundai MobED CES 2026 award-winning platform represents a major advancement in autonomous robotics technology. The CES Innovation Awards program celebrates outstanding products for their achievements in design, innovation, and engineering across various categories, with the Best of Innovation Award reserved exclusively for the top-rated product in each category.
Two Models Designed for Versatile Applications
The MobED platform is available in two distinct models: MobED Basic and MobED Pro. The MobED Basic model is controller-operated, offering flexibility for research and development applications. Meanwhile, the MobED Pro model features advanced autonomous capabilities powered by integrated LiDAR-camera fusion sensors, ensuring precise and seamless navigation in complex environments.
Both models incorporate the Robotics LAB’s proprietary Drive and Lift (DnL) technology, enabling stable performance on uneven surfaces, inclines, and curbs. This versatile mobility platform is designed to operate across various terrains and adapt to diverse industrial and daily applications, including logistics, broadcasting, guidance services, and digital signage.
AI-Powered Autonomous Navigation Technology
The MobED Pro model is equipped with AI-based algorithms and autonomous driving technology that enable it to navigate both narrow indoor paths and rugged outdoor terrains. The platform’s modular design accommodates diverse top-mounted modules, making it suitable for a wide range of industry-specific and everyday use cases.
“Winning this prestigious award reinforces our commitment to advancing robotics solutions that enhance everyday life. It is particularly significant to see MobED evolve from its debut as a concept at CES 2022 to receiving this accolade as a mass-production-ready platform. We will continue to develop robotics autonomous navigation technology and artificial intelligence technology to deliver innovative solutions that bring the potential of robotics closer to our customers.”
