AMD Launches Ryzen AI 400 Series Processors with 60 NPU TOPS at CES 2026

AMD has unveiled its latest Ryzen AI 400 Series and Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series processors at CES 2026, delivering up to 60 NPU TOPS for enhanced AI experiences across consumer and commercial Copilot+ PCs. The announcement includes new processors for ultra-thin notebooks, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D gaming processor, and the company’s first AI developer platform.

New Ryzen AI 400 Series Features and Performance

The Ryzen AI 400 Series processors are built on advanced “Zen 5” architecture and powered by second-generation AMD XDNA 2 NPUs. Every processor in the lineup exceeds Copilot+ PC requirements, delivering seamless AI experiences with up to 12 high-performance CPU cores and integrated AMD Radeon 800M Series graphics.

AMD has also introduced Ryzen AI Max+ processors for premium ultra-thin notebooks and small form-factor desktops, targeting creation, gaming, and AI development workflows. The company reports strong year-over-year growth in OEM adoption across consumer, commercial, and gaming segments.

Gaming Excellence with Ryzen 7 9850X3D

For gaming enthusiasts, AMD announced the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, building on the success of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D with a 400MHz higher boost clock. The processor combines “Zen 5” architecture with AMD 3D V-Cache technology to deliver enhanced gaming performance.

The announcement also includes FSR “Redstone” for Radeon users, bringing machine learning frame generation and upscaling to the latest AAA titles, supporting AMD’s full-stack AI computing platform vision.

Availability and Enterprise Solutions

Systems powered by AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series and AMD Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series processors will be available beginning Q1 2026 from major OEMs including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, GIGABYTE, and Lenovo. Desktop versions featuring the Ryzen AI 400 Series will launch later in Q2 2026.

The Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series targets enterprise environments with AMD PRO Technologies for enhanced security, streamlined manageability, and long-term platform stability. AMD has also announced ROCm 7.2 software support for Windows and Linux, delivering seamless integration with Ryzen AI 400 Series processors and ComfyUI compatibility.
