Saudi General Entertainment Authority: Saudi Arabia to break Guinness World Records on the 88th National Day

The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) revealed Saudi Arabia’s quest to break a number of Guinness World Records through two major events taking place during the Kingdom’s 88th National Day celebrations. The record-setting events will include the largest firework display and the largest flag painted in the sky using the drones, in collaboration with the Saudi Federation for Cyber Security and Programming.

GEA confirmed that the breath-taking fireworks show, accompanied by live national music composed particularly for this event under the supervision of HRH Prince Badr Bin Abdulmohsen, will be launched in more than 20 main cities across the Kingdom. The main show will consist 990,000 fireworks shots and will last for 15 minutes; In addition to 10 more shows in different cities and 45 secondary shows.

The fireworks taking place on the 88th National Day are expected to break the previous Guinness World Record achieved by the Philippines in 2016 during New Year celebrations, where 810 thousand fireworks were launched.
Regarding the largest flag painted in the sky, GEA shared details regarding its determination to break the world record by drawing a huge Saudi flag in the skies of Riyadh and Jeddah using 300 drone aircrafts. The flag will be 400 meters long and 350 meters wide and will display the sword and the Declaration of Faith. Fireworks will illuminate the background in green during the show.
