Huawei holds a training workshop to showcase its new era of professional photography through the new innovative Huawei Mate 10 Pro
Huawei Consumer Business Group held a training workshop entitled “Professional Photography using a Smartphone” for media at Park Hyatt Jeddah Hotel to introduce a new era of professional photography and best ways to use the cameras of the new Huawei Mate 10 Pro smartphone to replace their traditional professional cameras.
Huawei’s training workshop has seen remarkable attendance by a number of media. The professional photographer Abdullah AlSheshri reviewed and discussed different ways to use the new features Mate 10 Pro camera to replace the traditional professional cameras for the attendees. The cameras, co-engineered with the German professional lenses manufacturer Leica, offer many features and technologies that enable capturing vivid and high-quality images, in addition to the superfast image capture.

The new Leica dual camera system offers the world’s largest aperture of f/1.6 for more perfect, clearer pictures, especially in low-light conditions. The camera also comes with a 20 MP monochrome sensor, and a 12 MP RGB sensors, along with Image Optical Stabilization (IOS) and 4-in-1 hybrid zoom for crystal clear and bright shots. Moreover, the Kirin 970 has a dual image signal processor (ISP), which helps the camera focus faster and be more responsive.”
New Leica Dual Camera
As a result of Huawei’s collaboration with longstanding partner, Leica, the HUAWEI Mate 10 and HUAWEI Mate 10 Pro feature a New Leica Dual Camera with SUMMILUX-H lenses. Building on the success of the HUAWEI P10 and HUAWEI Mate 9, HUAWEI and Leica co-engineered the new dual lens camera that utilizes the world’s most advanced photographic technology to create artistic photos in Leica image style.
The devices feature 12-megapixel RGB + 20-megapixel monochrome dual sensors with an Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) solution. Additionally, with the world’s largest smartphone aperture of f/1.6 for both lenses, the new HUAWEI Mate Series can brighten up even the most dimly light photographs. The large aperture is especially ideal for night photography, most notably images that do not require artificial lighting or a long exposure. It also captures detailed AI-powered Bokeh Effect, for a more natural and detailed transition between the background and subject.
AI-powered Real-Time Scene and Object Recognition
Huawei and Leica’s experts collaborated to enhance Huawei’s self-developed ISP for a more intelligent photography experience. The new dual ISP, enabled by Kirin 970’s mobile AI computing capabilities, make the new HUAWEI Mate Series’ cameras capable of finding and identifying objects and scenery in real-time.
The HUAWEI Mate 10 and HUAWEI Mate 10 Pro’s AI powered Real-Time Scene and Object Recognition with Real-Time Auto Settings can recognize different types of scenes and objects, such as portrait, moving objects, food, landscapes, etc. Recognizing an object makes it easier for the device to set the best parameters when taking pictures. Once a background is identified, the New Leica Dual Camera automatically adjusts the color, contrast, brightness, and exposure to produce the best possible photo.
Snapshots with AI Motion Detection
The HUAWEI Mate 10 and HUAWEI Mate 10 Pro bring zero-lag photography due to their powerful AI-powered Digital Zoom system featuring laser focus, phase detection focus, depth focus, and contrast focus. This feature increases focus speed to 900 milliseconds to significantly improve snapshot quality. Combined with Huawei’s AI-powered Real-Time Scene and Object Recognition, the new HUAWEI Mate Series automatically chooses the best and fastest focus mode in order to deliver a consistently fast and steady focus performance.
AI-powered Digital Zoom of up to 6-10x brings far-off text into clearer focus and helps capture greater detail.
