Empower contributes to Dubai Blood Donation Centre through its blood donation drive
Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider organised a blood donation drive at its headquarters in collaboration with Dubai Blood Donation Centre on 28 August 2017. The blood donation drive was conducted in line with the UN’s Global goals for sustainable development and 2021 Dubai Plan, reflecting the principles of the social responsibilities of the company in donating the blood as humanitarian action.
“At Empower, we’re keen on spreading the culture of dedicated social service and giving, which targets all members of the society. The blood donation drive is a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility activities that helps spread a positive message about the importance of donating blood and whole-hearted support to meet emergency blood requirement,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.
Experts suggest that blood donation is good for health, helping reduce heart attack rates, cholesterol levels and the risk of cancer. Blood are distributed weekly to hospitals for regular usage on patients with ongoing conditions not forgetting the emergency supplies needed for specific cases and unforeseen accidents.
“There is a need for further awareness among the residents of the country on blood donation particularly among the youth. While we will continue this life-saving mission in hopes to create more awareness, we believe that our simple contribution of donating blood will save the lives of many,” added Ahmad Bin Shafar.
Empower constantly strives to organise such humanitarian campaigns, which are essential and necessary for the upliftment of the society, and the recent drive fosters social solidarity and cooperation among community members.
Empower encouraged its employees and members of the society to donate blood by informing about the importance of blood donation, the role of blood donation in rescuing patients and alleviating their suffering and benefits to donors’ health.

The blood donation campaign not only offers the patients a new ray of hope, but the joy and happiness experienced in contributing to the society is beyond words. Taking this as an opportunity I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all community members for their support in making this campaign a success,” concluded Ahmad Bin Shafar.
With 86 numbers of total donors participating in the campaign, Empower witnessed a significant turnout and remarkable participation of employees and members of community.
Empower currently operates more than 1.250 Million RT, providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World trade Centre Residences, Dubai Design District, among others.
