Lumi and Al-Kharj College of Technology Launch Training Program to Support Saudi Workforce

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; October 14, 2024: As part of their agenda to support and enhance the ongoing Saudi Nationalisation Scheme, Lumi, a leading mobility provider in the Kingdom, has signed an agreement with Al-Kharj College of Technology. As part of the agreement, Lumi will oversee the cooperative training of undergraduate students from the college to empower them with the practical skills required to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application. 

Lumi’s partnership with Al-Kharj College of Technology underlines its commitment to Saudi Vision 2030 in line with the government’s focus on sustainable economic growth to reduce unemployment rates and cultivate a generation of skilled innovative leaders. By investing in young Saudi undergraduate students through community initiatives that equips them with vocational skills aligned with market requirements, Lumi positions itself as a hub for potential leaders of the future.

Lumi today boasts 72% Saudization among their professional and management staff in line with the Kingdom’s drive to enhance employment of the local population.

Lumi’s dynamic growth in Saudi Arabia’s mobility sector has led to increased hiring opportunities for skilled workers with an average of 37 new employees joining the company every month. Along with rapid growth of business, Lumi prioritised employee development with 5,743 hours of training provided to 1,114 employees across the span of 2024. Currently, the company has 22 interns across their various departments with plans to extend the programme to 45 interns soon.
