Panasonic Showcases Advanced Broadcast & ProAV solutions at CABSAT 2017
Panasonic, a global leader in technology, is showcasing its broadcast and professional video solutions, suitable for producing high-resolution content in studio and remote production, and live recording at CABSAT 2017. The three-day event will be held at Dubai International Convention Centre from March 21 to 23.
Panasonic Marketing Middle East & Africa (PMMAF) is demonstrating its versatile camera line-up that includes the latest Ultra High Definition AK-UC3000 4K live camera, which outputs 1080p at 240fps high-resolution content in UHD. The company’s products ensemble consists of end-to-end production solutions, including high-efficiency switchers, Media over IP (MoIP), HD camcorders, and workflow solutions.
Panasonic is also expanding their existing camcorder line up with AVCCAM series of professional AVC HD camcorders. The latest models include premium model AG-UX180 and standard AG-UX90. Moreover, the VariCam Pure system is the latest addition to the company’s family of professional cinematography products. The camera offers 4K uncompressed RAW acquisition, ideal for episodic television and features.

Live Production Solution
Panasonic’s live production solutions include HD studio cameras, advanced switchers and Media over IP (MoIP) solution. Ultra-High Definition AK-UC3000 cameras are geared for the production of high-resolution content in UHD. This camera is an ideal solution for sports, remote studios, live concerts and aerial shooting. AK-UC3000 has a resolution four times higher than that of its predecessor, and is a compact studio camera with a sensor which produces a UHD signal (3840×2160) at up to 60p and is compatible with all B4 lens mounts.
Meanwhile, Panasonic’s compact and powerful HD/SD live switchers offer a host of mixer and controller solutions with system expandability that suits your current and future broadcast needs. The Media over IP (MoIP) solution enables transmission of high-definition video over IP networks in nearly real-time, sufficient for seamless video switching.
ENG of the Things
From high-end cameras, to memory cards, to portable recorders and drives, Panasonic offers the end-to-end solution for mobile in recording. Its P2 product range includes camera-recorders, mobile production solutions, Decks, storage drivers and camcorders. Some of the latest products are the AG-HPD24 portable P2 deck, memory card camera recorder AG-HPX250, and Panasonic P2HD drives, which enables accelerated data transfer from multiple cards to a PC or nonlinear editor, speeding up workflow.
Backed by the image quality, functions, and operating ease, Panasonic’s P2 range brings a new level of quality to ENG. Moreover, P2 Cast is the Panasonic cloud-based news production by integrating camcorders’ network capabilities so content captured in the field can automatically be uploaded to the cloud and immediately available for reviewing and editing.
Production camcorder line up
Panasonic is also expanding their existing camcorder line up with AVCCAM series of professional AVC HD camcorders. The latest models include premium model AG-UX180 and standard AG-UX90, which features a 1-type MOS sensor, optical 15x zoom and UHD 30p recording. Designed for handheld use, AG-UX180 is ideal for newsgathering, sports, music videos, documentaries and wildlife shooting. It supports Cinema 4K (4096 x 2160) at 24p, 4K (3840 x 2160) at 50p/60p, dual 4K and FHD (via dual SD cards), Infrared and HD super slow motion (120fps 60Hz/100fps 50Hz).
Cinematography and film sector
The VariCam LT is equipped with the super 35mm single-chip MOS sensor developed especially for the VariCam 35. It offers 4K (4096 x 2160) and UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution and boasts high sensitivity, low noise, wide dynamic range and cinematic depth of field. This sensor received The Hollywood Post Alliance Engineering Excellence Award 2015.
The VariCam LT has a compact and lightweight magnesium body and offers same picture quality specifications as the larger VariCam 35 cinema camera. The super 35mm image sensor, which is the same as VariCam 35, features wide dynamic range, an expansive colour gamut, and high sensitivity for 4K image acquisition. It has dual native ISO settings of 800 and 5000.
PTZ System
Panasonic’s integrated HD/SD pan/tilt professional camera range brings an industry-leading blend of outstanding broadcast-quality video, smooth pan/tilt/zoom operation, and easy system configuration, for superior HD and SD video production and communication. Despite its compact size, PTZ cameras, such as AW-UE70 integrated remote camera. delivers 4K images with excellent zoom range and exceptional pan-tilt performance.
