Careem Rides Launches Go Donations car type in KSA enabling customers in give back to the community 

• The Go Donations car type allows customers to donate SAR3 to Albir Society Jeddah iftar meals, with every ride they take on Careem during the holy month.

• The initiative reiterates Careem’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility, fostering a spirit of giving during Ramadan.

Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – March 21st, 2024: Careem Rides, the region’s choice for everyday reliable and convenient commuting needs through the Careem app, has announced the launch of Go Donations,  a Ramadan car type in the Kingdom,through which customers will be able to donate SAR3 to Albir Society Jeddah iftar meals, with every ride they take on Careem during the holy month.

Following its success from its previous launch last year, this initiative comes as part of Careem’s on-going commitment towards supporting local communities. The special car type will add a nominal surcharge of SAR 3 to every ride and this additional amount will be collected throughout the holy month and donated as a lump sum to Albir Society Jeddah’s “meals support program for vulnerable communities”. The program supports families, orphans, and kidney failure patients registered with the society.

Commenting on the announcement, Wael Ibrahim; GM of Careem Rides in KSA, Egypt & Bahrain said: “We strongly believe in giving back to the community, and this new initiative is another step taken in that direction. Through our partner Albir Society Jeddah, customers will be able to make a difference in their community with every Careem ride taken.”

The Ramadan Go Donations type is now available on the Careem app across the Kingdom, and customers will be able to do their part and give back to the community when taking a Careem ride throughout the holy month. In addition to the Ramadan Go Donations  car type, Careem Rides is  also hosting dedicated iftars for Captains throughout the month, a yearly initiative Careem has with Captains.
