Huawei Promotes Quality and Safety in the Kingdom
In line with the Saudi Vision 2030 goal to embrace responsible businesses, adapt a comprehensive list of standards and guidance, regulating an array of environmental and safety challenges, Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia recently held an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) workshop for its employees, partners and suppliers in the Kingdom as part of the global ICT leader’s commitment to safety and quality.
Aimed at highlighting best practice in EHS, the one-day event was attended by a number of Huawei partners in Saudi Arabia including Consulting Engineering Group (CEG) KSA, Al Rashed Comatec, Zamil Steel Holding, waseela, Mobiserve Co. Ltd. and Gulf Business Horizons etc. The workshop was also attended by Huawei staff including senior executives.
As part of its commitment to following the highest standards in safety and quality throughout all its operations, the company also launched the Huawei Saudi EHS Operation Incentive Award, which aims to recognize and encourage safe and responsible practices amongst employees and partners within the Kingdom.
“As a global leader in the ICT industry, Huawei is committed to conducting its business responsibly, placing great emphasis on the adherence of both local and global policies among staff, partners and suppliers,” explained Charles Yang, President of Huawei Middle East, who also attended and spoke at the workshop. “With over 1,000 Huawei employees and almost 100 partners working across several KSA projects, EHS standards top Huawei’s priorities to ensure the successful delivery of all its projects”.
Accompanied by a number of senior staff members from Huawei and partners, Charles Yang inspected different work sites, to ensure full compliance to EHS standards in all locations.
Internationally, Huawei has implemented an effective management system and established a corporate-level global safety incident ownership mechanism. In addition, Huawei has developed and enforced ‘EHS Absolute Rules’, a set of stringent in-house, multi-level guidelines that govern all company employees. The company also strengthened managers’ involvement in onsite projects, ensuring a positive safety-first culture. In the Kingdom alone, Huawei has conducted in excess of 200 safety and quality training sessions for over 5,000 Huawei and partner employees over the past half year
