Trellix laser-focused on helping organizations achieve Vision 2030 goals

Khaled Alateeq, the new Head of Middle East at Trellix, says enterprises will need a living security approach to stay one step ahead of adversaries.

Riyadh:

Global cybersecurity company Trellix, which is redefining the future of extended detection and response (XDR), has reaffirmed its commitment to Saudi Arabia, its government, its people, and Vision 2030, with the appointment of Khaled Alateeq as its head of sales in the Middle East.

As hackers find new ways to infiltrate critical security systems, government entities have intensified efforts to modernize their cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive data. With more than 13 years of experience as a cybersecurity expert, Alateeq’s reputation and success significantly impact every organization’s ability to protect itself.

Saudi Shopper recently caught up with Alateeq to discuss an array of issues, including how his comprehensive experience in cybersecurity will come in handy in safeguarding network infrastructure in both the government and private sectors of the Kingdom.

“While aligning with Vision 2030, organizations will inevitably expand their attack surfaces, opening to new attack vectors. Since traditional security defenses won’t cut it anymore, enterprises will need a living security approach to stay one step ahead of adversaries, adapt to new threats, and accelerate detection and response,” he said.

Alateeq has held several positions in business and IT, giving him a broad perspective on the intersection between business operations, IT, and cybersecurity. His expertise in tackling cyber challenges that threaten entities both in the public and private sectors is unmatched.

Trusted Brand

Trellix has been active in the Kingdom for over two decades, having built a trustworthy brand reputation recognized across all key sectors. “We offer a living security approach that is open, native, and constantly learning and adapting, for a range of industries, with a principal focus on critical sectors such as government, oil and gas, telco, FSI, and utilities,” Alateeq said.

“In Saudi Arabia, Trellix is laser-focused on helping organizations achieve their Vision 2030 goals, for which it has created simplified cybersecurity operations. Besides, Trellix has also invested in developing the local talent pool in the Kingdom in collaboration with other organizations,” he added.

KSA’s Proactive Steps

Trellix’s top official in the Middle East lauded Saudi Arabia’s progress in digital transformation in line with the objectives of Vision 2030. “The Saudi business community and government have demonstrated strong dedication towards achieving the goals outlined in Vision 2030, mainly in digital transformation and cybersecurity. Notable progress has been made through various initiatives, partnerships, and investments,” Alateeq said.

He said the government had taken proactive steps by launching initiatives such as the National Transformation Program and establishing the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SADAI). He noted that these initiatives develop robust digital infrastructure, encourage innovation, and bolster cybersecurity capabilities.

Cyber maturity

When asked how he perceives the indicators of cyber maturity in the Kingdom, Alateeq told Saudi Shopper that companies operating in the country recognize the importance of cybersecurity and are making significant investments in this area. The increasing prevalence of cyber threats has created a sense of urgency among organizations to bolster their security measures.

“As digital transformation initiatives gain momentum in Saudi Arabia, companies are adopting advanced technologies, cloud services, and IoT devices, necessitating increased investments in cybersecurity to protect digital assets and ensure data privacy,” he said.

Preemptive Measures

As ransomware groups and nation-state-sponsored targeted attacks dominate the current threat landscape, Trellix’s approach is to provide not only preventive technologies but also detection and remediation solutions that address the sophistication of the modern attack campaign.

“Trellix has also been active in helping organizations to safely recover in case of a compromise of their business operations,” said Alateeq. “Trellix aims to mitigate the risks and threats of cybercrime, contributing to a safer digital environment in Saudi Arabia in line with Vision 2030 goals.”
