The Ultimate 2023 Smartphone Showdown: HUAWEI P60 Pro vs iPhone 14 Pro Max vs Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

The Ultimate 2023 Smartphone Showdown: HUAWEI P60 Pro vs iPhone 14 Pro Max vs Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

In the ever-evolving world of smartphones, the battle for supremacy is a never-ending spectacle. With every new flagship release, we see them bringing new and improved features to one-up the competition. And this time around, we’ve got three contenders vying for the top spot: the HUAWEI P60 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. So, grab some popcorn and buckle up. We’re going to help you find the perfect companion for your on-the-go lifestyle. Ready? Let’s roll!

Design

Design is where smartphones first flex their muscles, and the HUAWEI P60 Pro is no exception. This stunner rocks the Rococo Pearl finish, a gorgeous blend of modern technology with an 18th-century French art style that’ll make heads turn. The handcrafted artisanal methods used to create this beauty elevate it to a level beyond ordinary smartphones. This gives every single piece of the HUAWEI P60 Pro a look that’s unique to itself. So you can have your own special Pearl Texture Design that’s one of a kind. For the camera module, the HUAWEI P60 Pro adopts the Eye of Light Design, placing the main camera in the centre and the telephoto and ultra-wide angle lenses arranged around it. It’s something that puts novelty back into smartphone photography. The HUAWEI P60 Pro is a statement piece oozing elegance and class. You’ll love showing it off to friends and strangers alike.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max keeps up the tradition of Apple’s design aesthetics and is not much different than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Clad in stainless steel, it sports a minimalistic design with clean lines. But the camera bump is bigger now. And the notch on the front is now a pill-shaped cut-out that lets you use Face ID and take selfies. It also has this new feature called Dynamic Island, which sounds like a reality TV show, but it’s actually a new way to see and interact with your notifications without leaving the app you’re using. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is available in a selection of colours, including Space Black, Gold, Silver, and Deep Purple.

The Samsung S23 Ultra has basically the same design as the S22 Ultra, but with a few tweaks here and there. The screen is still curved and huge, but with less of a bendy edge. And the display takes up most of the front except for the hole punch cut out for the selfie camera and tiny bezels at the top and bottom. The back of the phone still has a bunch of cameras arranged the same way as in the previous generation, but they’re all bigger now. The smaller radius of the edge curvature gives the phone a boxier appearance. This also provides the screen with a greater flat surface area, making using the built-in S Pen a bit more comfortable.

The artistic flair of the Rococo Pearl finish makes the HUAWEI P60 Pro a design masterpiece in the entire smartphone world. So, here the winner is an easy choice.

Cameras

In the realm of smartphone photography, the HUAWEI P60 Pro is a true game changer with its impressive Ultra Lighting XMAGE Camera system. The Ultra Lighting Telephoto and Ultra Lighting Main Cameras, both flaunt powerful 48-megapixel sensors. The Ultra Lighting Telephoto Camera sets a new standard for the low light performance of telephoto cameras on smartphones. This means you can zoom in on far-away objects in low light and snap well-lit pictures with vivid colours and plenty of details. The Ultra Lighting Main Camera is nothing short of extraordinary, either. It can capture incredibly detailed images in the most challenging lighting conditions. The innovative camera tech ensures that you’ll be capturing the world around you in unparalleled detail and beauty, setting the bar high for its competitors in the market.

When it comes to the iPhone 14 Pro Max, it has a 3x zoom telephoto lens that lets you get closer to the action without losing quality. It also has a 48MP main camera that can take super sharp photos and videos. To reduce storage consumption, it defaults to 12MP, though. Features like ProRAW and ProRes are handy if you want more control in the editing phase. The phone also uses Smart HDR and Deep Fusion to optimise images for texture, detail, and noise reduction.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has stepped up its camera game with its new 200MP sensor. You can crop your photos and still have tons of detail. The downside is that each photo will take up a lot of space on your phone, like 50 MB each. But the phone uses 16:1 pixel binning to make smaller 12.5MP. It has a periscope lens that can go 10x optical and 100x digital zoom. Samsung promises better “Nightography” performance with the improved sensor, allowing users to shoot better Night Portraits.

Even though the iPhone and Samsung have impressive cameras, the HUAWEI P60 Pro’s Ultra Lighting XMAGE Camera can run circles around them with its unmatched low light performance. It is hands down the best phone for night photography.

Display

Moving on to the displays, the HUAWEI P60 Pro’s 2700 x 1220 resolution Quad-Curve Display makes your screen time not just visually appealing, but a comfortable experience as well. With its sleek design and immersive viewing experience, it’s no wonder this display is a standout feature. Additionally, the 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive high refresh rate ensures buttery-smooth visuals while also saving battery life. Moreover, thanks to the ultra-durable Kunlun Glass, which has ten times better drop resistance, you can be confident that your phone is visually stunning and built to last.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR screen with ProMotion technology and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It also supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision. It has an always-on-display that lets you see the time, date, battery, and notifications without unlocking the phone. But iPhone’s always-on-display feature functions more like a screensaver as the whole screen remains on albeit very dim. Apple claims that the Ceramic Shield front cover of the new iPhone is four times stronger than the previous one.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra has a remarkable 6.8-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen which delivers vibrant colours and deep blacks. It is smooth and responsive, and it can adjust the refresh rate depending on what you’re doing. It also supports HDR10+, which means you’ll see a wider range of colours and more contrast. And to protect the display, the phone uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Neither the iPhone 14 Pro Max nor Galaxy S23 Ultra has the charm of the HUAWEI P60 Pro’s Quad-Curve Display. Moreover, there’s also superior protection provided by the Kunlun Glass.

Battery life and charging

When it comes to battery life and charging capabilities, the HUAWEI P60 Pro is no slouch. With a beefy 4815 mAh battery, you’ll have plenty of juice to last throughout the day, even with heavy use. And when it’s time for charging, the 88W HUAWEI SuperCharge and 50W wireless charging options will have your device powered up and ready to go in no time. What’s more, the phone comes with a dual port charger (1C+1A) in the box that is compatible with multiple devices. Talk about a power player in the smartphone world!

On the other hand, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has improved charging speeds than its predecessor. Although we don’t know the exact battery capacity or the wired charging speed of the phone, both have seen some notable improvements. Moreover, the phone is compatible with MagSafe wireless charging at 15W and offers reverse wireless charging with other MagSafe-compatible devices.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, it has a 5000 mAh battery that supports 45W fast wired charging to ensure all-day performance. Moreover, it is compatible with 15W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging with other Qi-enabled devices.

While both Galaxy S23 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max do feature fast charging, they do not compare to the 88W HUAWEI SuperCharge and 50W wireless charging speeds of the HUAWEI P60 Pro. Moreover, to be able to use fast charging with Samsung or iPhone, you will need to shell out more to buy a charger as these phones don’t come with a charger. Both of these factors tip the scales in HUAWEI P60 Pro’s favour.

Conclusion

While iPhone 14 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra have their strengths and features, the HUAWEI P60 Pro’s unique Rococo Pearl design, superior camera system, the Kunlun Glass, and powerful charging capabilities set it apart from the competition. It is a true combination of style, functionality, and performance. And for those who crave that perfect blend of sophistication and cutting-edge tech, the HUAWEI P60 Pro is the right choice.
