Empower launches new campaign to raise diabetes awareness among the employees

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, has launched a campaign to raise awareness about diabetes on the occasion of World Diabetes Day, in an effort to limit the spread of the disease locally and globally.

The initiative offered free blood tests for all Empower staff, in addition to medical consultations with a group of medical specialists who guided staff on how to follow a healthy lifestyle for the prevention of the disease. They drove home the message diabetes has serious repercussions on human health if neglected, which affects productivity and quality of life.

Empower selected “Mediclinic Beach Road” in Dubai to conduct blood tests and medical counseling for employees, between 9 am and 4 pm.

“The primary goal of our campaign was to screen employees’ health, and prevent them from getting diseases like diabetes, as well as provide solutions and ways to limit the risks, which will be reflected positively on the quality of their life and work,” said HE Ahmad bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

“Our participation also reflects our commitment to national and global campaigns to raise awareness about diabetes because of its huge impact on human life in many communities. Our efforts are not limited to diabetes, but extends regarding many other diseases that pose a significant risk to human health,” he added.

Empower currently operates more than 1 million 200 thousand RT, providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estates developments, such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, among others.
