AppGallery Gamers Cup returns for a thrilling second edition with Garena Free Fire and $30,000 prize pool

Dubai, UAE, 23 March 2022:  Huawei has announced the launch of the second season of AppGallery Gamers Cup for gamers in the Middle East and Africa region. The tournament, created in collaboration with Garena Free Fire, invites all gamers to grab their gear, warm up their thumbs and prepare for glory. AppGallery builds on the triumphant first edition and runs it back to provide a platform to the ever-growing MENA mobile gaming scene. The event also showcases AppGallery’s unrivaled services, such as a wide range of gaming options for users and cutting-edge technologies for developers to push their limits.

The first edition of AppGallery Gamers Cup attracted gamers from 13 countries, including Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait, with over 400 regional female gamers. The live-streamed event was a success with over 4,000 registrations and 200k viewers enjoying the action via AppGallery and HMS social channels.

Following a massively successful first edition in 2021, the latest edition will see thousands of participants from the Middle East and Africa competing for a prize pool of USD30,000 – the first prize is $15,000, the second is $10,000, and the second third is $5,000.

Garena Free Fire is a mobile battle royale title, and was the most downloaded mobile game in the world in 2019, 2020, and 2021, according to data.ai, previously known as App Annie. This fight for survival, the action-adventure third-person shooter combines a captivating tale with elite gameplay. The second edition of the AppGallery Gamers Cup will be held from 5th April to 21st April, with registrations open for a week starting from 21st March.
