Almarai shares its experience in using technology in the food industry

Faisal bin Marzouq Al-Fahadi, the Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs in Almarai, revealed that the use of fourth-generation industrial technology applications in the company’s manufacturing, production and logistics facilities had supported Almarai in occupying a leading position in the region as the largest vertically integrated company for dairy products in the world and the largest producer and distributor of food products and beverages in the Middle East.

Al-Fahadi has emphasized in his speech, during a session titled “The Role of Innovations and Modern Technologies in Developing the Food Industry” that modern technology plays a strategic role in the development of the food industry to establish a new stage of sustainable food security enhancement locally and globally, by activating modern technology and innovation to produce healthy, safe, and high-quality food. This session was held within “Saudi Made” exhibition conducted under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Export Development Authority. His Excellency Eng. Osama Al-Zamil, Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, was present in the session and a number of industry leaders in the Kingdom.

Al-Fahadi added that the use of modern technology and innovation is the essence of Almarai’s identity, and this is evidenced by Almarai’s commitment to promoting innovation as a key value to emphasize the quality culture in the company, in addition to the digital transformation of production processes and automation of business processes.

Al-Fahadi mentioned that one of the major technologies that have been activated in the manufacturing facilities of Almarai and the development of its logistical services is applying the fourth-generation technologies in the industry, which comes in line with the focuses of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP). These modern technologies depend mainly on the use of technology and intelligence of machines, robots, and other advanced technical infrastructure to upgrade the industrial process and raise its efficiency, especially in the food industry, which is one of the main objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.
