Almarai Honors the winners of its Award for Veterinary Medicine in the GCC for its 13th

In a ceremony held in Makkah Al-Mukarramah under the patronage of His Excellency the Director of King Faisal University, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, and His Excellency the Mayor of the Holy Capital, Eng. Muhammad Al-Quwais. Almarai has honored the winners of the thirteenth session of the Almarai Award for Veterinary Medicine for the countries of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council 2021.

The ceremony witnessed honoring the winners in the six different categories of the Award. The winner of the distinguished Saudi veterinarian in the field of environmental health and food control award was Dr. Muhammad Amir Muhammad al-Khamis from Kuwait. Meanwhile, the winner of the distinguished veterinarian for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries award was Dr. Tamara Hussein Qabazard. And the winner of the outstanding student in veterinary medicine award was shared equally between different students who are; Abdullah bin Khalid Al-Dosari from the College of Veterinary Medicine at King Faisal University, Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Fayez from College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine – Qassim University.

“This award is one of the main building blocks in supporting the veterinary profession in the Kingdom and the Gulf states.” said Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Head of Corporate Communication and Public Relations at Almarai.

Al-Otaibi added that sponsoring this Award every year is an affirmation of how important it is to the future of the environment and food in the Kingdom. It also affirms its important role in promoting and developing livestock in the region. The societal benefit and the national interest motivate Almarai to implement these sponsorships.

It is worth mentioning that Almarai Award for Veterinary Medicine in the GCC was launched in 2010 to emphasize the active role of the veterinarian in protecting the public health of livestock in the Kingdom and show the bright side of the veterinary profession and its importance.
