Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – August 10, 2021 “The day will come when the man at the telephone will be able to see the distant person to whom he is speaking.” When Alexander Graham Bell, the founder of the telephone, said these words in 1906, the idea was taken with a pinch of salt. 

Though the invention of the telephone did make people accept the fact that two persons as far as cities or even countries and continents could communicate through a device, it was still a distant reality to imagine seeing the person at the other end. 

Today, after 145 years from that prodigious invention, the world is living in the era of smartphones. From an awe-inspiring instrument to an object of daily need, this journey from the telephone that Bell made in 1876 to reach 3.80 billion hands, accounting for 48.2 percent of the world’s population has been phenomenal, to say the least.
