Almarai has renewed the cooperation and partnership agreement with the Saudi Veterinary Medical Association for three more years, starting from the 22nd of June 2021 until the 22nd of June 2024. The agreement stated that the company is exclusively sponsoring the award, which is “Almarai Veterinary Medicine Award for the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries,” by being committed to cover the annual value of the award, which is five hundred thousand Saudi riyals (500,000 SAR).

This came after the visit of Dr. Salah bin Abdulaziz Al-Shami, Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Saudi Veterinary Medical Association, to Almarai headquarters in Riyadh, with his accompanying delegation yesterday. The group has been welcomed by Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Bader, CEO of Almarai. The two parties have signed the agreement and partnership renewal. They have changed the award’s name to “Almarai Veterinary Medicine Award for the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council.”

The Secretariat of “Almarai Award for Veterinary Medicine” gave a presentation to Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Badr, CEO of Almarai, that talked about the award and its remarkable successes over the past years; as it attracted hundreds of veterinary doctors and researchers and had the greatest impact on enriching the Saudi veterinary medical movement.

In this context, Mr. Al-Badr said: “This award is consistent with the comprehensive vision pursued by Almarai in supporting various professions and enriching them in the local community.”

He added that Almarai has a proven track record in this field and is keen to ensure that its social responsibility activities positively impact the development of the country.

“The objectives of Almarai Award for Veterinary Medicine for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are found to recognize the veterinarian’s role locally and in the Gulf countries and publicize their contributions to protecting the public health of the livestock in the Kingdom. As well as encourage the movement of the scientific and laboratory research among veterinarians.” mentioned by Dr. Salah bin Abdulaziz Al-Shami, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors.

Dr. Al-Shami appreciated Almarai’s sponsorship of this award, expressing his sincere gratitude to the company’s management for their interest in this category of science, which has the greatest role in protecting and developing the livestock in the Kingdom.

It is worth mentioning that the award was launched in 2009 under the name of “Almarai Veterinary Award for the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries” before changing the name to “Almarai Award for Veterinary Medicine for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.”. The awards have reached 62 winners from doctors and researchers since launching.
