Multi-Screen collaboration: Get more done on a single screen

The EMUI 11 tablet update also introduces an updated version of the Multi-Screen Collaboration[1] feature. The new Multi-screen Collaboration offers more than just simply mirroring your smartphone screen to a tablet. You can now use other apps on your phone without interrupting the mirrored display on the HUAWEI MatePad Pro. This is quite useful when presenting, you can project the document from your smartphone to the larger screen of the HUAWEI MatePad Pro and if you get a personal message on your phone, it will not be displayed on the projector. Additionally, by integrating your smartphone’s screen with your tablet you enable sharing across devices. The tablet’s keyboard, display, and speakers can all support the smartphone, as its peripherals in a way you never thought could be possible. With Multi-screen Collaboration, you can simply drag-and-drop files between devices; you can also operate your phone on the tablet while taking advantage of its hardware such as the display, speaker, keyboard, and stylus to boost your productivity.

Multi-Window: Do multiple things at once and double your efficiency

In addition to Multi-screen Collaboration, Multi-Window[2] has also been improved to support window resizing. They work together with floating windows, which EMUI 11 new software update supports up to two at once, to take full advantage of the larger screen for multi-tasking needs. You can add up to 10 apps to an App Bubble with a tap of a button. Apps added in this fashion can be quickly resumed, so you do not have to go back and forth between the Home screen and the apps you are working with. On top of Multi-Window, HUAWEI MatePad Pro running on EMUI 11 can add two floating windows. Whether you are playing games or watching videos, you can quickly reply to messages without exiting what you are doing via floating windows.

EMUI 11 software update also comes with new features for existing productivity tools. The native Notepad app has been given some visual enhancements for a better overall experience. Text in the subject line is now bolded for emphasis and the list of notes are now put against a background with a gradient effect, improving readability. In terms of new features, Notepad now supports text extraction: you can now scan a document and convert printed copies into machine-encoded text for easy editing. Additionally, you can also easily insert images into a note on the tablet by snapping a photo with a smartphone[3]. To protect your privacy, each individual note can be locked, requiring you re-authenticate your identity by using the PIN or biometrics before the note can be viewed.

[1] This feature is supported on select Huawei models equipped with Kirin 980 or above, EMUI 11.0 or Magic UI 4.0 or above and dual-band Wi-Fi antenna.

[2] Compatibility may vary depending on specific apps. More apps will support the feature with updates in the future.

[3] Only supported on European models (except models sold in Turkey, Ukraine, Israel)
