Geneva, Switzerland, 14 January 2021 – The World Economic Forum yesterday hosted a Special Dialogue with H.R.H. Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman for its members and partners, chaired by Forum President Børge Brende. The interactive session gave chief executives from around the world an opportunity to hear directly from the former chair of the G20 about the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, its trajectories for economic recovery, and the next stages of Vision 2030.

In the virtual session, the Crown Prince explained the policy priorities for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including transitioning from an oil economy to one centered on nature and humanity, and pioneering technological advancements, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The Crown Prince also responded to questions about leading the G20 during one of the toughest years in history

“In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we will not wait for the 21st century to take a specific shape so that we can adapt to it, but rather, we will work with our partners to create this collective future in a way that serves humanity and preserves the planet,” said H.R.H Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. “I call upon you to join us on this journey.”

“Despite unprecedented times, Saudi Arabia has made progress in transforming its economy and has handled the pandemic effectively. As the government pursues the realization of Vision 2030, I can’t think of a more timely dialogue between HRH and business leaders,” Brende said. “As a host to this meeting, the Forum is as committed as ever to facilitating public-private cooperation and to promoting dialogue in the Middle East and beyond.”

More than 160 members and partners of the World Economic Forum from around the world participated in the virtual session.
