Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) partners with Hala Yalla to increase sports participation for Vision 2030
The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) partnered with Hala Yalla – Saudi Arabia’s first Super App for Sports, Entertainment and Tourism – to be their digital transformation partner by creating an ecosystem that enables SFA to deliver their sports activation programs. This partnership is a result of a long-term relationship with the Ministry of Sports.
The SFA app’s main objective is to drive physical activity through developing the outdoor landscape, providing a range of accessible venues, and creating a network of sports professionals and volunteers. These are in line with the Kingdom’s wider Vision 2030 goals that seek to encourage a healthier lifestyle among people of all backgrounds.
“We are proud to have partnered with Hala Yalla to bring the SFA app onto the platform. We have worked closely with their team to develop the app into a streamlined user experience. We aim to encourage people across Saudi Arabia to take up sports and join physical activities consistently, nurturing a culture of wellness and fun. Through our app, users can easily access community sports groups, sporting events in their area, organize their own events, and much more. The SFA App will also continue to evolve going forward as we bring more exciting features to the platform.” says Osamah Saleh Alnuaiser, Director of Marketing and Communications, Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA).
The SFA app does this by becoming a hub for community sports groups, providing health tips, news and alerting users to upcoming events based on their interests. The SFA and Hala Yalla teams are also working to expand these features with a gamification and rewards program, sports events and programs to stay active, along with integrating steps and fitness tracking functions in the app.
Hala Yalla was closely involved with the SFA app as a digital transformation partner. Hala Yalla provided support by building a state-of-the-art platform that delivers an ecosystem enabling SFA to effectively deliver its sports activation programs. The new app also perfectly aligns with Hala Yalla’s vision to build a massive ecosystem for sports and entertainment across Saudi Arabia in line with Vision 2030 goals.
The SFA App was first released in July 2020. Hala Yalla and SFA collaborated through research and workshops to fine-tune the app into a more streamlined, attractive and efficient design that is focused on the needs of local users. This was made possible through Hala Yalla’s passion, cutting edge technology and design knowledge that enabled the app to be tailored to the needs of users in Saudi Arabia.
“We are delighted to partner with Sports for All. With this partnership, we are helping people across the country to connect, organize events and take part in sporting activities. These aims are closely tied in with Vision 2030 objectives and we are proud to help support the country in successfully achieving these goals,” says Yousef Shanti from Hala Yalla.
