Trend Micro to Highlight Cloud Cybersecurity at AWS Summit Bahrain

As part of its upcoming participation at the upcoming Amazon Web Services (AWS) Summit Bahrain, Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, will host a presentation on ‘The Art of Cybersecurity in the Cloud’, a session that will explore the best security practices for businesses transitioning to the cloud.

With AWS recently launching its first AWS Region in the Middle East in July 2019, including three Availability Zones located in Bahrain, the opening of the data center cluster brings new opportunities for organizations in the region to leverage cloud technology.

“The recent launch of AWS’ new data center cluster in Bahrain has generated a lot of excitement within the burgeoning cloud market to drive new digital business models in Bahrain and the Middle East,” said Bilal Baig, Technical Director GCC, Trend Micro, which is an AWS Advanced Technology Partner and AWS Security Complacency Partner to support secure AWS-hosted applications and servers.

However, Bahrain continues to see an increasing number and variety of cyber-threats against individuals and organizations. As organizations in Bahrain and the Middle East increasingly move to the public cloud, this could also expand their cyber-threat landscape. As a result, regional organizations are investing in their cloud cybersecurity. The Middle East and North Africa cloud-based cybersecurity spend growing by 108 percent year-over-year to USD 9 billion in 2019, according to a recent report from Gartner.

“At the AWS Summit Bahrain, we will raise awareness on the best practices for Bahrain and Middle East enterprises optimizing cybersecurity in the cloud,” added Bilal Baig. “Enterprises from Bahrain and the Middle East can gain the knowledge to keep their cloud-based IT infrastructure secure as they move to take advantage of AWS’ new data centers.”

Trend Micro will be available for media interviews at the AWS Summit Bahrain on Sunday, 15 September at The Gulf Hotel. The event will draw representatives from hundreds of enterprises and government entities on the latest advances in data center technologies.
